Putting Pirates Provence 2024
The 2024 edition of the Putting Pirates Short Break took us to the Provence from September 20th until September 24th.
We stayed at Hotel du Golf de Valescure, Saint-Raphaël and played Valescure GG 21/09, Royal Mougins Golf Club 22/09, Golf de Roquebrune 23/09 and GC Sainte Maxime 24/09.
Some came by plane, others by car or train. The first evening started on the terasse of the hotel where the first rosé bottle was opened. Not a normal bottle but a 6 liter magnum. Another would follow soon… and the rest is history. On Saturday, after playing the very nice hotel course of Valescure, we closed the day with dinner at La Baia in the port of Saint Rafael. Dinner was wrapped up with some cautious dancing on the terras overlooking the yachts in the harbour. Sunday, after a short drive, we played on the ‘royal’ Mougin (moejin) golf club with a challenging first and certainly interesting second hole down into the valley over water. Roquebrune was the most challenging course where some of us have left a few spare golf balls for anyone to find them. Also to get there was a little challenging for those who drive electric cars after a rainy night. Dinner on Monday was at the winery of Clos des Roses where we started the evening with a small wine tasting. Tuesday we closed the trip at golf course of Sainte Maxime. Those who returned home by plane shortened the day to only play nine holes or was it because of the rain which ended up immersing the last flights.
The winner of the gang is Daisy who managed to get the most combined points. Congratulations.
Everybody happy and up to the next trip…
